What about a Will?

It is, understandably, something that is all too easy to put off. Yet if you don't write a Will, the Government will ultimately dictate how your estate is distributed – rather than your loved ones.

Statistics show that many of us still haven't made a Will, which is startling considering how important a Will is for leaving what you want, to who you want. Even if you already have a Will, failing to keep it up to date is almost as bad as not having one at all. Just consider the implications of failing to include an additional child or grandchild as a beneficiary.

There are also many other good reasons to write a Will. For instance, you may wish to specify a particular guardian for your children, should they not have a surviving parent. You might want to stipulate whether you want a burial or cremation at your funeral, or that you would like to leave a donation to a particular charity.
